“垂直绿化”,看似新兴的景观设计理念,早已进入了人类生活,也在逐渐得到应用与普及。然而,在当今人居环境日趋恶劣的情况下,如何充分合理利用绿地,改善绿化结构,提高总绿量和叶面积总数,成为了所有景观设计师必须面对的现实问题。因而,城市绿化中利用藤本植物进行垂直绿化能够有效地拓展城市绿化空间,提高城市绿化水平,改善城市的生态环境。在本期专题中,大量垂直绿化的成功案例,将展现给读者形式多样的立体绿色世界,为城市绿化面积的扩大提供相应的参考和借鉴。


"Vertical greening” is seemingly a new term and new concept of landscape design, actually with a long history in China which dates back to ancient Spring and Autumn Period: at that time, the Suzhou Rampart was built by King Fu Chai of Wu with vine climbing plants to practice vertical greening; meanwhile, ancient Egyptians, Greeks and Romans in the West were all practicing vertical greening with vine plants when building their private gardens and courtyards. Visibly, vertical greening has long been a part of landscape design, but without wide application. Nowadays, we are facing a deteriorating living environment, thus, how to increasing the total green coverage ratio becomes a knotty problem for landscape architects. Thus, vertical greening with vine plants is apparently effective to expand urban greening area. In this issue, we present a great number of successful vertical greening projects to provide readers with appropriate reference.

“Paradise” is a place of desire defined by its otherness. International Garden Festival 2010 is themed by “Paradise”, of which visions permeate landscape thinking, and may be given an infrastructure through landscape architecture. This issue features in the seamless integration of modern techniques and natural elements in landscape design, displaying a variety of projects involved space management and site restoration. This issue features in pavilions at Shanghai EXPO 2010, analyzing 15 design concepts of self-built pavilions. The pure air is full of exotic alien flavor: simple but elegant, heavy make-up, neutral style, or childhood innocence. NO.25 微地形处理

This issue features in micro-scale landform management which is the focus point in the profession of landscape architecture. Designers’ management on complex micro-scale landforms reveal in various places such as gardens, buildings, waterfront, residential forecourt etcetera. The integration of suitable vegetation of unique color, scent, shape into undulating meadows, flat pools, zigzag runnels, visually transitional steps, givees artistic appearance to details accentuated by sunlight.
